The Detroit Lions will be without a pair of key defensive contributors in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. They released their inactive list and it includes linebacker Jarrad Davis.
Defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand was already ruled out for the game on Saturday but Davis was questionable after being limited all week in practice.

In place of Davis at middle linebacker, rookie Jahlani Tavai should be in the starting lineup.
Cornerback Rashaan Melvin, who was questionable for the game after being limited in practice all week, will dress and is expected to play. He should be part of the cornerback rotation, as Arizona is expected to use three and four receivers on the field.
