LB Gerald Hodges announces retirement

One of the Arizona Cardinals’ free agents will not be playing for another team in 2019. Linebacker Gerald Hodges announced his retirement from the league on social media Friday afternoon.

Hodges played only one season for the Cardinals. He was signed during training camp in August when injuries tested the depth of the linebacking corps. He made the team and played in all 16 games, starting six of them. He finished the season with 55 tackles.

His NFL career spanned from 2013-2018 and he played for the Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints before joining the Cardinals last season.

He retires at 28 years of age having played in 81 career games. He finishes his career with 274 tackles, 3.5 sacks and three interceptions.
