'Lazy' - Leeds United fans rage as Joe Cole reignites Marcelo Bielsa myth

Leeds United fans have torn into Joe Cole after he reignited the myth about Marcelo Bielsa 'burnout'.

The Whites have fought against the narrative for almost three years due to the intensity at which the Whites coach trains his players.

However, Leeds have shown that in recent seasons they often come on stronger and ended the 2021/22 season as the most in-form side in the division.

Ahead of the new campaign and kick-off against Manchester United, Cole was the latest pundit to fall victim to the false narrative.

"Do you think this game is set up for him (Sancho)? The way Leeds play, they tend to die after 60/70 minutes and the last thing they will want to see is Jadon Sancho stepping on this field with 20 minutes to go," Cole said on BT Sport, which left Leeds supporters furious.

"It's unique, it's almost eccentric football. It's rare you see someone that dedicated to their way of playing football," he added.

"It's almost stubbornness, beautiful to watch. They were one of the bright sparks last year and if you couple that with being back at Elland Road with their supporters back, they could be a real force.

"You have to add an asterisk because when you look at Sheffield United last year, I'm not saying that's going to happen, that kind of football, you either win four or fives or you could be on the end of a hiding."

Last season, Leeds scored 31% of their goals in the 20 minutes of Premier League matches and only conceded 14% of their goals during that same period.
