Lazio star comments on Celtic clash as fans could be barred from attending Europa League match

Lazio star Ciro Immobile has spoken about the racism charge hanging over the club which could see Celtic fans banned from attending the Europa League meeting in Rome.

The Hoops will be at the Stadio Olimpico on November 7, but visitings fans may miss out due to a UEFA charge.

The governing body has charged Lazio fans with racist chanting in the match against Rennes, and if upheld it could lead to a stadium closure for the next European home game.

UEFA will hand down their verdict on October 17, and today the Biancocelesti 's star striker was asked about the possibility of a stadium closure.

Speaking from the Italy camp at Coverciano, Immobile said: "The club and I dissociate ourselves from this, I don't know what happened.

"I've read some things but the less we talk the better it is.

"UEFA will look at it and decide, I don't want to give space to things which should be condemned.

"We're fighting this situation and Lazio will do their best."

Lazio lost their first group match away at CFR Cluj , but currently sit second in the group after beating Rennes 2-1 in Rome last Thursday.

That leaves them a point behind Celtic , who lead the group with four points from two games.
