Lazio star blasts Celtic wins as 'lucky' as Sergej Milinkovic-Savic admits Euro disappointment

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic insists Celtic were lucky to beat Lazio in both Europa League games.

The Serbian midfielder - who is linked with a big money move to Chelsea if they get their transfer ban lifted - is still in shock at the two defeats.

His side moved to third place in Serie A by beating Lecce but Milinkovic-Savic is baffled by the defeats.

Neil Lennon's men scored late goals in both games with Christopher Jullien netting at Parkhead while Olivier Ntcham scored in Rome.

He said: "We treat the league in the same way as we play in Europe. The difference has been we simply have had no luck in the Europa League.

"We didn't play badly against Celtic, we just lacked luck in both games. The ball just didn't seem to want to go into their net and of course they then went and scored with almost the last kick of the ball.

"We are in great form in Serie A, but we are all so disappointed about our European displays. I wish we could play the games against Celtic again, but that's football."

And Lazio keeper Thomas Strakosha insisted the defeat to Celtic was a fluke.

The Albanian international stated: "The results in the Europa League lie. By that I mean, they don't reflect on how well we have played.

"Of course we should have done better in the competition, but the scores don't tell the whole story.

"All we can do to make up for it is to try and finish as high as we can in Serie A."
