Lazio legend in Celtic jibe with tired Scottish football cliche rearing its ugly head again

Lazio legend Bruno Giordano isn't worried by Celtic 's technical ability - but has warned his former side they'll have plenty of running to do on Thursday night.

The Serie A giants will be in Glasgow this week for the first match of a Europa League double-header, with the return in Rome next month.

Celtic currently top the group after taking four points from their opening two games, but the former Lazio striker doesn't think their technique will cause Simone Inzaghi's men too many problems.

Giordano, who played over 200 games for the Biancocelesti told RadioSei : "Against Celtic we have to run.

"They don't have great technique, but they have crazy intensity and Lazio have to show that they can deal with the intensity of European football.

"They (Celtic) attack you from all over the pitch, so this is a good test that Lazio will have to overcome if they want to do well in this competition.

"We need to think game-by-game, also in terms of team line-up, otherwise we'll get into difficulty."

Giordano may want to ask his old club for their scouting reports on Lennon's side though, with Celtic fans thrilled by the quick, passing football the likes of Callum McGregor, Ryan Christie and Odsonne Edouard regularly provide.

The club legend's comments about team selection come amid rumours that top-scorer Ciro Immobile will be rested at Celtic Park , with Felipe Caicedo playing alongside Joaquin Correa in training this morning.

Giordano was top-scorer in Serie A with Lazio in the 1978-79 season, and later won the Scudetto with Napoli playing alongside Diego Maradona and Antonio Careca.
