Lazio face Celtic sweat as key man pulls up injured in training

Lazio have been handed a blow ahead of their Europa League clash with Celtic, as Joaquin Correa pulled up injured in training.

The Argentine forward scored the winner against Milan at San Siro on Sunday, and started at Celtic Park in the first meeting two weeks ago.

According to LaLazioSiamoNoi though he suffered an injury during this morning's training session at Formello.

Correa joined his team-mates for the first session of the day, but during possession work he went down and had to have ice applied to his calf.

The forward then tried to continue but after a few minutes was forced to leave the pitch.

He'll be assessed in the coming hours but his injury adds to something of a crisis for coach Simone Inzaghi.

Ciro Immobile and Felipe Caicedo both went for scans on Monday and while the former is likely to be fit after being withdrawn as a precautionary measure at the weekend, Caicedo has a problem with his collarbone.

While Correa's absence is good news for Celtic , with him and Caicedo both likely to be out Immobile is likely to start on Thursday.

The Italian international would likely be partnered by Luis Alberto, playing a more advanced role in Lazio 's 3-4-1-2 system.
