'Lax on the ball' - How the Bristol Rovers played rated in 1-0 defeat to Swindon Town

Anssi Jaakkola - 6

Untroubled in the first half. Visibly frustrated by the play in front of him. Let down again by poor marking for Pitman's header

Alfie Kilgour - 3

Struggled defensively throughout, with huge penalty shouts in his direction as Hallam Hope went down under his challenge. The goal came from a poor foul that would have been avoided with more urgency. Lacking confidence and making poor decisions.

Max Ehmer (c) - 5

Looked untroubled as Swindon barely threatened, but he has to be more commanding at set-pieces with Rovers shipping another soft goal .

Cian Harries - 4

Too direct when he got the ball and needed more composure when he moved into midfield in the second half.

Josh Hare - 5

Rarely had a chance to get forward with Rovers struggling to string anything together.

David Tutonda - 6

Good intent to drive forward and he delivered the cross which should have brought the equaliser, only for Nicholson to hit the post.

Josh Grant - 4

Needs a defined role in this team, as the number 8 job he was given in the second half did not suit him.

Ed Upson - 4

Lax on the ball in the first half, giving it away a couple of times when more urgency from him could have sparked an attack. Some good challenges, but gave the ball away far too often.

Luke McCormick of Bristol Rovers tussles for the ball. (Alex James/JMP)

Luke McCormick - 4

Can never question the effort, and he did have a good shot at goal when Rovers were chasing the game, but he did not create enough.

Brandon Hanlan - 5

Isolated in the first half with Rovers' approach play far too direct. Thankless task for him today.

Sam Nicholson - 5

The Scotsman was Rovers' most likely route to goal in the first half, causing Swindon's defence issues with his nimble turns and direct running. Faded in the second half and should have equalised with a free header.
