A highly-educated lawyer and economist who raped an eight-year-old boy in a horror two-day ordeal before murdering him has been jailed.
Sick Vitaly Pashchevsky, 40, lured Danil Biryukov to his flat on the way home from school and then subjected him to a two-day ordeal before stabbing him in the head.
A crowd of more than 200 people had to be held back by riot police from lynching Pashchevsky as he arrived for a crime reenactment ahead of his sentencing.
The angry mob shouted ‘Killer! Killer!’, ‘Show him to us!’, ‘Pervert’, ’Scum’, ‘Let us deal with him’ and ‘Why are you guarding him? Why are our children not guarded?’
As he was sentenced for 23 years at a court in Kursk, Russia, heard the horrifying details of how he raped little Danil and then murdered him and dumped his body at his mum's old home.
Pashchevsky was neighbour to the boy and his mum and has known him from birth, so its likely the youngster trusted him when he entered his flat in Zheleznogorsk, in the Kursk region.
But sick Pashchevsky then took pornographic pictures of the boy during a two day ordeal as his worried parents and police desperately searched for him.
He subjected the child to repeated violent sexual attacks between answering his door to police, denying he knew what had happened to the boy, the court was told.
Police failed to enter his apartment where - just a few feet from his door - the child was forcibly held and unable to summon help.
After two days, Pashchevsky killed Danil by stabbing him in the head.
He hid his corpse on his balcony.
He then cynically joined hundreds of neighbours and volunteers in a hunt for the boy.
At this point police did search his flat but failed to notice the boy’s corpse on the balcony.
Six days later he took Danil’s body in a large gym bag to a lonely site near a country house owned by his mother.

But he failed to repent or ask forgiveness from Danilo’s parents, say reports.
Judge Elena Khokhlova sentenced him to a total of 23 years in jail and ordered him to pay £37,500 to Danil’s parents.
Danil’s mother was too distressed to say if she was satisfied with the sentence.
“We need time to think it over,” she said.

He was asked by a detective: “What is in this place?”
He replied: “Here is where I hid the dead body of the child.”
“Which child?”
“The one I killed."
“What is this place, can you explain?"
“This is the house that belonged to my mum.”
