Lawyer Kim Kardashian kills the planet by using ChatGPT…

Kim Kardashian is out here doing her part to warm the planet even faster by using ChatGPT. All’s Fair has basically taken over Hulu right now. With the promo blitz for the new series in full effect, Kardashian stopped over at Vanity Fair for one of those Lie Detector Interviews. Unfortunately, much like a lot of what goes on daily with this particular celebrity, we all learned a bit more about Kim Kardashian than we bargained for during that video. Namely, that our girl leans on ChatGPT like a crutch for some things. This time, it was legal advice. It’s pretty bleak folks.

“I use it for legal advice. So when I am needing to know the answer to a question, i’ll take a picture and snap it and put it in there,” Kardashian said. “They’re always wrong. It has made me fail tests. And then I’ll get mad and I’ll yell at it and be like, “You made me fail. Why did you do this?”

In a way, I’m strangely glad about this story. Maybe if people hear that Kim Kardashian uses this thing and it screws up her personal endeavors, then other folks will stop using it too. In fact, maybe the ineffectual nature of ChatGPT is the real story here. To be clear though, Kim’s not off the hook for using it. If you don’t know how dire the effects of this particular technology are on the planet and your actual, factual brain are by now, I can’t help you. But, at least people are starting to identify the snake oil being sold to them in real-time. One step closer to folks realizing how bad this entire 4 year stretch has been with AI.

Elsewhere in that same variety interview, Kardashian talks about that infamous moment with Marilyn Monroe’s dress. There’s other wild stuff going on during that conversation. But, it’s all in service of All’s Fair over on Hulu. And, reader, we have to talk about how only a human could have written such a strange show. Part legal drama, part TikTok Shop for expensive lawyer-esque formalwear. I just can’t believe such a show exists. It’s truly a baffling ride the entire way through. (Joke is probably on us though, because it’s the #1 Hulu original debut of the year, if these new metrics are to be believed.

Our Rachel Leishman tried to explain All’s Fair to me and I still cannot believe my ears. Ryan Murphy just said, let’s do it all. See, and that’s part of the problem here. A little too much everything and anything, all of the time. It’s like you put a high powered lawyer lookbook into a prompt machine and told it to wild. I think Leishman really hit this one on the head in her recent piece.

“I am someone who loves Scream Queens as a show and All’s Fair feels like a mix between that kind of comedy but looks and should feel like one of his more serious FX shows,” she points out. “Instead, it just lands somewhere between trying to be funny and also trying too hard to be serious. And it does not work well together at all.”

Couldn’t agree more. But hey, at least it’s made by people!
