Lawsuit alleges Lonzo Ball sold UCLA uniforms, shoes for roughly $80,000

As part of the countersuit filed by Big Baller Brand co-founder Alan Foster against Lonzo and LaVar Ball, it was revealed that, while in college, Lonzo sold game-used items for roughly $80,000. The most notable of the items reportedly sold was his jersey from UCLA’s Sweet Sixteen contest against Kentucky.

From the lawsuit, as reported by The Blast:

During the same time, the suit claims, Alan brokered the sale of Lonzo’s UCLA sweet sixteen uniforms, and UCLA shoes for an approximate $80,000. A portion of which was used as a down payment for a Mercedes AMG G-Wagon.

The lawsuit goes into detail about loans Foster reportedly made to the Ball family during Lonzo’s year at UCLA. Reportedly unhappy with his living situation at UCLA, Lonzo and his family sought out help from Foster.

In the suit, Alan says he “loaned to LaVar, Tina and Lonzo hundreds of thousands of dollars from his personal savings for various things, including over $130,000 on Lonzo’s living expenses.”

“During Lonzo’s first semester at UCLA, he complained to LaVar and Alan that his dorm room had poor air conditioning and he hated UCLA’s meal plan,” the documents state.

So, Foster says, “Lonzo and LaVar asked Alan if he would rent an apartment or condominium for Lonzo, pay for Lonzo’s personal trainer…including furnishings and laptops. Plus, pay for Lonzo’s food bills.”

This is one of many noteworthy details of the countersuit from Foster. Per the suit, LaVar embezzled funds for his “extravagant lifestyle” while also reportedly misleading Lonzo on Foster’s involvement in the missing funds.

The countersuit is a response to an original lawsuit filed in March by Lonzo against Foster that alleges Foster embezzled the missing funds that total roughly $2.5 million.
