Laws Whiskey House Wins Best Small Batch Bourbon Award

Laws Whiskey House named Best Small Batch Bourbon at 2024 World Whiskies Awards.

Laws Cask Strength Four Grain Bourbon, produced by Laws Whiskey House based in Denver, Colorado, has been crowned the Best Small Batch Bourbon in the World at the prestigious 2024 World Whiskies Awards. This accolade marks a significant achievement for the distillery and highlights the growing reputation of Colorado as a hub for exceptional whiskey production.

Established in 2011 by Al Laws, Laws Whiskey House prides itself on using only high-quality ingredients sourced from local Colorado farms to craft its award-winning spirits. Unlike many competitors, Laws Whiskey House does not purchase barrels of whiskey from contract distillers, ensuring that every drop of their product is made in-house and aged in the unique high-altitude environment of Colorado.

The distillery's commitment to quality and innovation is evident in its production methods, which include open-air fermentation and the use of a custom-made four-plate copper pot-column still. These techniques concentrate the flavors of the whiskey, resulting in a terroir-driven lineup that sets Laws Whiskey House apart from traditional Kentucky-style bourbons.

One of the key factors contributing to Laws Whiskey House's success is its extensive inventory of over 6,000 aging barrels, allowing for a diverse range of flavor profiles to be developed. The flagship Cask Strength Four Grain Bourbon is a standout offering, characterized by its rich blend of corn, heirloom wheat, rye, and malted barley.

The Cask Strength Bourbon, priced at $89.99, boasts a complex flavor profile with notes of baking spices, black tea, and honeysuckle, complemented by hints of orange, clove, and dried fruits. This premium whiskey is best enjoyed neat to fully appreciate its depth and character.

Looking ahead, Laws Whiskey House plans to expand its visitor experience with the opening of a new tasting room and whiskey museum in early spring. Whiskey enthusiasts are encouraged to explore the distillery's range of offerings and discover the artistry behind Colorado's emerging regional whiskey style.
