Lawrence Shankland has agreed personal terms on a move to Rangers and will undergo a medical in the next 24 hours.
The 30-year-old is on the brink of a move from Hearts having flown back early from a family holiday in Portugal to push it through.
Shankland is due to join up with the Scotland squad tomorrow ahead of Saturday's World Cup warm-up friendly against Curucao on Saturday but will fit in a medical, as per the Rangers Review.
The Ibrox club became aware of a clause in the striker's contract which allows him to leave the capital club for free after just one year of the three-year contract he signed last summer.

They wanted to get a deal done as quickly as possible to make him their first summer signing, and personal terms have now been agreed ahead of the medical.
Shankland will sign a two-year deal in Glasgow with the club holding the ability to trigger an additional 12 months.
Last week, Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh admitted the club will have a 'pro-SPFL' bias in their recruitment as they look to add players with experience of the league.
We have a pro-Scottish bias in the club today,” Cavenagh said. “Meaning if you have two players roughly equal and one is Scottish, we will take the Scottish player."
Cavenagh also explained that Rangers will look to sign the right characters this summer, "I’m not trying to degrade those that are there, but we need better leadership, more mentality to achieve our goals."
