Lawrence Guy explains what the ‘The Patriot Way’ means to him

The “The Patriot Way” can be defined in many different ways, depending on where the perspective is coming from.

Obviously for Danny Amendola, the commonly-used phrase was the embodiment of Tom Brady. Former Patriots cornerback Darius Butler offered his idea on the topic and gears it toward the small details that ultimately build the culture in Foxborough.

Lawrence Guy, who’s been with the team for four seasons, offered his idea of what the phrase means.

“You see it every single year. Every single year, we come out there, we never point fingers, we try to win games,” Guy said on Wednesday, transcribed by NESN. “Even when we lose games, we didn’t sit there and say, ‘It was this person’s fault.’ We put it on our backs, we kept working. Like I said last year, we weren’t quitting even though we were out of the playoffs. We continued to work.”

As Guy stated, the way in which the Patriots finished out the 2020 season was an example of the dedication and work ethic that’s been present in Gillette Stadium for two decades.
