Lawrence Chaney claims she 'manifested' for BAFTA Scotland nomination

RuPaul's Drag RaceUK winner Lawrence Chaney claims she 'manifested' for a Scottish BAFTA nomination with a special outfit ahead of the announcement.

The Glasgow born talent was left almost speechless after finding out she was in the running for an Audience Award at this year's ceremony alongside It's a Sin actor David Carlyle, Jean Johansson of A Place in the Sun, Des star David Tennant and Line of Duty's Kelly Macdonald and Martin Compston.

The award gives members of the public an opportunity to vote for their favourite Scot on screen over the last 12 months.

Before announcing the good news to fans Lawrence said: "Guys, GUYS!"

Then she added: "A queer person from a competition reality show got nominated for a BAFTA? I DO THINK."

Bafta Scotland joked with Lawrence that she hadn't exactly been shy about her hopes for a nomination.

They wrote: "You weren't exactly subtle in your desires Lawrence!"

And they shared a picture of Lawrence wearing an outfit that seemed to incorporate what looked like one of their famed BAFTA Scotland gold masks.

Lawrence admitted: "I’m manifesting!!!!"

Fans were delighted to hear their favourite Queen was up for a nomination and appealed to others to vote.

One said: "GIRLS. GAYS. THEYS. Let’s get Lawzza a BAFTA x"

Another observed: "Two crowns are better than one."

And a third added: "AND WIN IT YOU SHALL!!!"
