AMBALA: The Ambala unit of special task force (STF) of Haryana police arrested a shooter associated with Lawrence Bishnoi (LB) gang on Sunday.
The STF said that the arrested accused has been identified as Monu alias Chhota of Bindhal village in Sonepat district. He was wanted in January 2022 Ambala murder case of Mohit alias Jhalla, a shooter of Bhuppi Rana (BR) gang and February 2022 snatching case of Sadar Gohana in Sonepat district.
Monu carried a reward of Rs 5,000.
STF superintendent (SP) Sumit Kumar said Monu is a member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang and he was wanted in murder of Mohit, in a case registered at Mahesh Nagar police station on January 22, 2022. Last year, Lawrence Bishnoi gang members had shot dead Mohit, a member of their rival BR gang.
He said another case of snatching and assault was registered against Monu at Sadar Gohana police station on February 8, 2022.
"Mohit was shot dead after stopping his car in Mahesh Nagar area of Ambala in a result of gang war between Bishnoi and Rana gangs", said the SP.
