Law firm wins framework contract for seven councils

Law firm Harper Macleod has won a contract to act for seven Scottish local authorities under the Aberdeen City Council Framework.

The two-year agreement involves advising Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council under the new framework.

It also means Harper Macleod will continue to advise Highland Council, Shetland Islands Council, Orkney Islands Council, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Moray Council.

Under the framework, firms on the panel provide commercial, regulatory and dispute resolution services to local authorities.

Harper Macleod is now appointed to act for 24 of Scotland's 32 local authorities.

James McMorrow, a public sector partner at Harper Macleod, said: "We know the challenges that local authorities currently face and how to help them navigate a time of change as they move towards being councils of the future.

"These appointments are a testament to the strength of our team and the quality of support we provide to authorities across the country.

"We look forward to working with these local authorities to deliver our expertise and support them in achieving their ambitions to deliver the very best modern and efficient services to their communities."

Harper Macleod advises a range of organisations across the public sector, including Scottish Government and UK Government Departments and Agencies, NDPBs, other public authorities and housing associations.
