Law firm Wilkin Chapman welcomes two new partners

Leading regional law firm Wilkin Chapman has welcomed two new partners.

Senior solicitors Jonathan Hyldon and Jonathan Baker have stepped up, as the firm seeks to further develop specialist areas in which they practise.

Mr Hyldon joined the Grimsby-headquartered firm as a senior solicitor in 2016, having previously worked at city firms in Hull and Leeds.

Specialising in commercial property and licensing, he has travelled nationwide representing some of the largest UK hospitality chains in both alcohol and gambling licensing cases.

The last five years have seen him underline his strength in complex property transactions, while working closely with the corporate and commercial team in Grimsby, where he is based.

Mr Hyldon is also part of the firm’s specialist Education Academies Sector - a leading provider in the region, advising on property elements when schools are converting to academies or looking to join larger trusts.

“The work I carry out is both dynamic and diverse,” he said. “Having joined the largest law firm in the region I have continually developed my property skills whilst at the same time forming strong relationships with my clients.

“Whilst as a firm we are continually seeking to expand our legal offering we also place great emphasis on providing our existing clients with the best service possible. Retention is key and maintaining client relationships that we have built over many years is of paramount importance.

“I am delighted to become a partner and look forward to playing an integral part in the future of Wilkin Chapman.”

Mr Baker joined the firm's Lincoln office as a trainee a decade ago, after completing his studies in Hull and York.

He has been described as “the force behind the firm’s medical negligence team,” and said he feels a “great personal importance to those clients you are helping” when dealing in the “extremely interesting area of law”.
