Law firm Murray Snell signs up rural business expert in Edinburgh

Private client law firm Murray Snell has announced the appointment of rural business specialist Gail Clarke as an associate solicitor in its Edinburgh office.

She joins the firm, which is part of the MacRoberts group, after more than five years as a director of rural land and business at Blackadders. Clarke has more than 25 years' experience advising landowners, communities, farmers and other businesses on transactions such as land and forestry sales and fishing and shooting rights.

She also advises on the development of renewables projects including wind farms, hydro and solar power and anaerobic digestion.

Murray Snell partner John Macleod said: "We are delighted to welcome Gail to the firm. Her experience and expertise is first class and she will be able to offer our clients additional areas of legal expertise, particularly in relation to forestry and renewable energy projects."

Clarke is a University of Aberdeen graduate who began her career in the city with Burness Paull and has since worked for Turcan Connell, Anderson Strathern and Tods Murray.

She said: "Joining a firm with the pedigree and quality of Murray Snell, backed by the strength and depth of MacRoberts, is a huge privilege and I look forward to adding to the exciting growth and development plans across Scotland."
