Law firm Michelmores secures new office space in Bristol

South West law firm Michelmores has secured a new Grade A office space in Bristol.

The Exeter-headquartered firm will open its new space in Bristol, taking 11,000 sq ft, in the recently redeveloped 10 Victoria Street. Other companies which have moved into the new space include real estate consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton.

Lettings have been secured by property consultancy Hartnell Taylor Cook, alongside real estate firm CSquared, on behalf of Northwood Investors. The building offers cycle storage for 76 bikes with shower and changing facilities, plus specialist cycle clothing drying lockers, four EV charging points, and has a BREEAM Very Good rating.

The new space will a first for Michelmores, where the offices have have been designed from scratch to complement its agile working model, with plans to create a bespoke configuration that supports collaborative working and offers a welcoming space for clients. The move comes as the firm continues to see growth across its core private client, business and real estate groups and follows a number of appointments including six senior lateral partner hires this financial year.

Hartnell Taylor Cook and CSquared are now marketing the remaining 24,636 sq ft of available space to rent in the building.

Paul Beanlands, partner and head of Michelmores' Bristol office, said: “This move marks our ongoing commitment to investing in Bristol which has played a key role in Michelmores' growth trajectory over the last decade. Having the right space is key to our Destination 2030 strategy and future growth and talent attraction plans.

"The move also represents our commitment to sustainability and a people-first culture where employees have the space and support to produce their best work."

Commenting on the news, Chris Grazier, partner at Hartnell Taylor Cook, said: “This is a great start to the year for the Bristol office market off the back of a record year in 2022. The flight to quality in the city centre is soaring and this landmark offers a state of the art space in a prime location. With both Allianz and Schroders recently entering the building, there is clear appetite for Grade A space and 10 Victoria provides a great base for Michelmores to continue growth in this region.”

Michelmores will move to its new home close to the Finzel’s Reach development in late 2023 when its bespoke fit out completes.
