Scottish law firm Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie has acquired J Gibson Associates in Edinburgh for an undisclosed fee.
The move comes as founder Jeff Gibson prepares to step down from the business, handing over to WJM which will continue to provide legal services to the firm’s client base.
Fraser Gillies, managing partner at WJM, said: “Jeff Gibson has built a strong firm over the past decade, looking after residential property, private client, commercial property and litigation work.
“We will be working closely with him over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition for his valued client base who will continue to benefit from a first class level of service.”
Gibson added: “We are delighted to be joining the long established full service law firm of WJM - our existing clients will benefit from wider expertise with the same personal service.”
Last July, WJM's Inverness branch made a similar move, acquiring Calum I Duncan Corporate Lawyers in the city, as Calum Duncan announced his retirement.
