Law firm BTO Solicitors has recruited construction expert Fraser Hopkins from rival Pinsent Masons.
Hopkins starts work as a partner with BTO’s construction team in Glasgow today, having been a senior associate in his previous job.
He specialises in risk and construction disputes with significant experience in working on high- profile building and infrastructure projects across the UK for contractors, developers and construction professionals.
Hopkins will co-lead the commercial side of BTO’s contentious construction caseload alongside partner Jilly Petrie.
Fraser is the fifth new partner to be recruited by BTO, which also has offices in Edinburgh, in 2019 in addition to two internal partner promotions.
BTO’s chairman David Gibson said Hopkins brings “real specialist expertise in dispute avoidance and dispute resolution and a passion for construction projects which our clients will value greatly”.
“Fraser’s appointment forms part of the general development and refocus of our wider construction team, involving both contentious and non-contentious lawyers.
