Law firm appoints new managing partner

The Birmingham office of global law firm DLA Piper has appointed a new managing partner.

Real estate partner Trevor Ivory takes over the role from Huw Dolphin after almost five years in post and he will now continue to focus on his work in the finance, projects and restructuring practice group.

Mr Ivory joined the firm in 2015 and is the UK head of planning, a role which he will continue to perform alongside his new duties running the Birmingham office which is based in Victoria Square.

He said: "I am delighted to take up this new challenge at such an exciting time.

"DLA Piper is a leading global law firm and our Birmingham office is a critical part of the business, given the quality of our local clients and the importance of the region to many of our national and international clients.

"I am proud of the talent and diversity of our people here and am constantly amazed by the efforts that they go to help our clients succeed."

UK managing partner Liam Cowell added: "Huw has done a fantastic job leading and developing the Birmingham office for which we are very grateful.

"I know Trevor will carry on the excellent work driving office growth and promoting its role within the UK and the wider firm."
