Law and District AAC take silver in 3000m Indoor National Championships

Law and District Amateur Athletics Club kicked off 2020 with a medal win at the recent 3000m Indoor National Championships.

Darran Muir won silver in the veteran-40 category at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena with a time of 9.09.27 minutes.

At under-23 level, James Gillon took an impressive 15 seconds off his personal best to finish in fourth place, with a time of 8.42.67mins.

Senior Jonathan Kennedy completed the race in a commendable time of 10.07.25mins.

Four shot putters were also competing at the event, with under-17 Shannon Gough achieving a personal best of 11.46m after throwing a 4kg put.

Senior Graeme Ferguson achieved a season’s best of 12.35m, just short of his personal best.

Jade Gray, in under-15 girls, threw 9.87m in a consistent series of high nine-metre throws.

Ross Ferguson, in under-15 boys, threw a personal best of 5.69m.

Sixteen athletes took part in the GAA Yuletide meet at the Emirates Arena, with 15 hitting new personal bests.

This includes Jessica Inglis, who won her heat in 2.44.42.
