Law and District AAC athletes performed well in two major cross country events in late November.
Three athletes competed in the Scottish University Challenge over 7.7km at Craigmillar Castle Park, Edinburgh on November 20.
In good conditions but on a hilly course, Kieran Pugh had a strong run to finish 43rd in a very competitive men’s field.
In a slightly smaller women’s field, Emily McNicol was only a few seconds away from a medal, finishing fourth.

Making her debut, Jessica Robson finished in an excellent 22nd place.
Seven days later, 21 athletes travelled to Liverpool to compete in the British Cross Challenge at Sefton Park, with some terrific performances.
Under-13 athlete Olivia Inglis was 81st in the 3km race, and under-15 Jessica Inglis was 24th in the 3km race, from 111 competitors.
U15 star Ryan Kellock was 28th and Daniel Simpson was 74th, at the same distance.

U17 Fiona Currie was 55th and Amanda Quinn 85th in the 4.4km race.
Fellow U17s Oscar Logan (66th), Craig Cherrie (86th) and Logan Whitton (88th) took part in the 5.7km race.
Under-20 runners Matthew Gillon and Finn Milligan were 105th and 111th in the 6.7km race.
Senior women’s runner Emily McNicol was 74th, Madelaine Watson 92nd and Reagan Binnie 111th in the 8.1km race, from a field of 270 competitors.

Senior men Kieran Pugh (159th), James Gillon (174th), Kieran Cubis (335th), Jim Gillon (432nd), Conor Butters (463rd), and Moazzam Hussain (504th) took part in the 9.8km race, from a field of 515 runners.
