Law and District AAC athletes perform well at West District Cross Country Championships

Law and District Amateur Athletics Club took part in the West District Cross Country Relay Championships at Ayrshire Athletic Arena earlier this month.

Their young males (teams of one under-13, one under-15 and one under-17) team of Daniel Simpson, Logan Whitton and Oscar Logan finished 21st; Alex Orr, Scott McAdam and Craig Cherrie were 37th and Blair Barrowman, Adam Hughes and Finn Milligan came in at 47th place.

Their young females in the same category also did well.

Joscelyn Kennedy, Jessica Inglis and Fiona Currie were 22nd, Ruth Hynd, Susannah Kay and Hannah Todd finished 34th and Kirsty Currie, Melissa Currie and Elizabeth Kay were 46th.

Law and District AAC fared better in the senior women category, where Emily McNicol, Maddie Watson and Katy McGonigal, representing Strathclyde University, were 12th.

Reagan Binnie, Margaret Newell and Pamela Newell were 40th.

Their senior men’s teams also took part in the event.

Darran Muir, Ross Hill, Matthew Gillon and Paul White were 23rd; James McClafferty, Keiran Cubis, Ben Fountain and David Nugent finished 57th and Mark Milligan, Richard Beattie, Martin Kay and Conor Butters came in 67th place.

And James Gillon competed in the Cardiff Cross Country Challenge in under-20 senior men, completing the course in an impressive time of 32.39 minutes in a race over six miles, finishing in 25th place.
