LaVar Ball takes credit for trade sending Lonzo Ball to Pelicans

Within the last six months, LaVar Ball has advocated for the Lakers to trade Lonzo Ball to the Phoenix Suns, congratulated them for holding onto him and even spoke optimistically about the future under new head coach Frank Vogel.

But for those of a high intellectual aptitude, it was easy to tell this was all big long ploy for Lonzo to end up in New Orleans. For the simpletons who were playing checkers this whole time and may be confused as to how this all adds up, LaVar divulged his chess strategy on ESPN’s First Take on Monday:

“I told you. They let go of the best thing they had going for them. I told them ‘You get the Ball boys, you can survive this.’ Now they can’t. But like I said before, these suckas, I’m playing chess. Ya’ll playing checkers. The best way to get Lonzo out of L.A. is I said ‘You know what, I don’t like New Orleans. I don’t New Orleans. Lonzo ain’t going nowhere. He’s the best in the world and the L.A. Lakers ain’t going to ever let him go.’ The first thing they do is exactly what I wanted them to do is let him go because it’s raggedy over there. Even the writing is on the new shirt he’s going to wear, it says ‘No L.A.’ on there.”

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Only a genius could pull off a scheme like this. It’s obvious now that LaVar’s gameplan all along was to get Lonzo out of Los Angeles. He simply was playing all of us all along by saying Lonzo was the face of the Lakers, the team didn’t need to sign another superstar because they were already talented enough and said his sons will team up in L.A.

It’s understandable that we all were fooled this whole time. On top of being a Big Baller that can beat Michael Jordan 1-on-1, Ball is also clearly an award-winning actor and a brilliant strategist. It’s truly a blessing to see someone of his caliber perfecting his craft.
