LaVar Ball says his sons will be billionaires while playing in NBA

LaVar Ball has never been one to shy away from making bold predictions, but his latest prediction for his sons — Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball — might be his biggest and boldest yet.

In a recent interview with SLAM Magazine, LaVar said that he’s sure that all three of his sons will be billionaires during, not after, their professional basketball careers through avenues outside of basketball:

“My boys are gonna be the first ones to be billionaires playing on the court. I got other stuff in line to get that,” LaVar says. “Whatever my boys are playing for on the court, that’ll be chump change. You don’t have guys doing that. One guy gets a championship and next thing you know he wants his own team, bigger contracts.”

LaVar has alluded to this idea several times since Lonzo was drafted in 2017, but this is the first time he’s used the term “billionaire.” While it’s not impossible for all three of the Ball boys to be billionaires during their playing careers, it would  mean they all have to not just make it to the next level, but to thrive in the NBA. So far, Lonzo is the only one of his brothers that has shown that he’s capable of doing that.

While Big Baller Brand could become the family’s cash cow outside of the court upon their impending re-launch, they’d have to sell a-whole-lot of sneakers to accumulate at least $3 billion between the three of them.
