Despite being in business for multiple years, one of the many faults of Big Baller Brand is its lack of diversity in available merchandise. While the company hinted at a Lady Baller selection, little has come of the line.
In reality, Big Baller Brand has been marketed almost strictly to male basketball players with the vast majority of the shoes available being men’s basketball shoes. However, LaVar Ball recently revealed that the company will be expanding into more casual clothing this fall.
On an appearance on WISN 12’s morning talking show in Wisconsin while promoting his All-Star game with Kevon Looney, Ball was asked about the future of Big Baller Brand.
We going be having some new shoes. We’re going to have some lifestyle shoes. We’re turning this thing around. We’re going to have a bunch of stuff coming out. We’re not only going to be having performance shoes. Like I said, I’m going to go into that lifestyle game, too, where you can have some nice little joggers to kick it in, just roll around town.
This potential launch would likely be in accordance with the upcoming new Lonzo Ball shoe, which has been hinted at but not confirmed. It also, though, would likely come with many of the same issues that has plagued the company like it’s inability to ship products in a timely manner.
But the idea of the line is intriguing. It would certainly appeal to a new type of audience. That audience, though, would likely be far less willing to pay the exuberant prices that have also been attached to the company.
It’s a promising idea but like so much of Big Baller Brand, one that will likely be executed poorly.
