LaVar Ball made his own high school All-American game for LaMelo

It’s that time of the high school sports season where basketball All-American games announce their teams. The McDonald’s All-American Game and Allen Iverson Roundball Classic have both unveiled their teams, leaving out five-star prospect LaMelo Ball.

Well, LaVar Ball has assured that his youngest son won’t get shut out of the All-American circuit completely because he has made his own game. Of course he did. Neva lost.

On Wednesday, Big Baller Brand announced that LaMelo would headline the BBB All-American Game at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The rosters haven’t been set, but Big Baller Brand made a point to mention that LaMelo would be there.

The game is set to take place on March 31 and will apparently feature the “top high school athletes in the country.”

Due to NCAA rules, high school players aren’t allowed to participate in more than two All-Star events. The top players generally hold out for the McDonald’s Game and Jordan Brand Classic due to the tradition and partnership with ESPN. So, we shouldn’t necessarily expect the top-rated players to be involved here.

The McDonald’s Game ruled that LaMelo — despite being ESPN’s No. 13 prospect — was ineligible, and the other games will likely make a similar ruling.

That’s not to say that the BBB Game can’t find quality basketball players to participate. We’ll just have to wait and see who LaVar gets to sign on.
