LaVar Ball denies that LaMelo Ball may leave Big Baller Brand, sign elsewhere

LaMelo Ball’s future is a bright one that will likely see him drafted with one of the selections in the 2020 NBA Draft. Ball’s success on and off the court in the National Basketball League in Australia has proven he’s an international superstar and one of the more familiar faces in basketball.

Ball’s marketability off the court makes him a highly-desirable player for any sneaker company. Throughout the last year, though, Ball has remained non-committal on his off-court future. Following the lead of older brother Lonzo, LaMelo has disassociated himself with Big Baller Brand.

While LaMelo has made it known he’s open to all his options in the sneaker market, father and co-founder of Big Baller Brand LaVar doesn’t appear quite ready to accept the potential LaMelo-less fate of the company.

In the latest episode of Ball in the Family, LaVar took a trip to Australia as LaMelo and Jermaine Jackson settle in to present him with new logos and shoe concepts for Big Baller Brand. While LaMelo clearly remained uncertain of his future with the brand, LaVar continued to refuse to acknowledge LaMelo leaving as a realistic possibility.

Later in the episode, LaVar would show a video he said was of LaMelo practicing in Big Baller Brand gear after the meeting, though it’s impossible to tell if that was the case. Considering LaMelo has a direct quote stating he was keeping his options open and refused to shoot down the rumors on the episode, it’s unlikely his stance has changed.
