LaVar Ball, Big Baller Brand sign with PR firm EAG Sports Management

In a move that likely should have come many moons ago, LaVar Ball and Big Baller Brand have reportedly signed with public relations firm EAG Sports Management.

EAG Sports Management does not have many clients currently in the NBA – Austin Rivers and Bismack Biyombo being the only active players – but they do have an extensive history in sports and list 26 NFL athletes as their current clientele as well as three Hall of Famers. Most notably, Jameis Winston, Antonio Gates, Terrell Suggs and Tyrann Mathieu all employ EAG Sports Management. The company is also used by UFC fighter Jon Jones.

Also notable about the company is the all-female staff, led by Denise White, the CEO and Founder of EAG Sports Management. Per Wikipedia, White “is known as the Olivia Pope of the Sports World and is widely known to coming to the defense of troubled athletes.”

Ball and Big Baller Brand are certainly in a troubled state currently. The company is fledgling in the wake of the findings with co-founder Big Baller Brand while its majority owner, Lonzo Ball, waivers on a decision about his future with the company.

What this means for the future of the company, though, is unclear. Recent posts on Instagram and the status of the company’s website lead one to believe the company’s days are numbered. If that’s the case, a PR firm could simply be damage control on the way down in what would likely be a very public and very ugly closing of the company.
