Lautaro Martinez's agent gives major update on future amid Chelsea and Manchester United links

Lautaro Martinez is set to end speculation over his future by opening talks over a new Inter Milan contract.

Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with the Argentine striker over the past year, along with Real Madrid.

However, Martinez's agent, Alejandro Camano, has detailed plans to sit down and thrash out talks with Inter with willingness on both sides to reach an agreement.

"We have a great relationship with the Nerazzurri," he told FC Inter News. "And we're talking about getting together to discuss Martinez's renewal.

"Inter want to renew Lautaro's contract. And we want to extend. There will be no problems. We'll see them in the next few days or weeks.

"We are talking about a very important player for Inter and about a very important club for Lautaro. It's not just money that matters. The project, the sporting trajectory, what is happening, the fact that everything is going well and Inter's sentiment are also important.

"There are various factors. Lautaro is not just about money. Lautaro also has a feeling for the club, a city that loves him and that he loves."

Martinez, 26, spoke openly about his future at the recent Ballon d'Or ceremony after being asked about a potential move to Real Madrid.

“Obviously we’re talking about an absolutely top team," he stated.

“But my my thoughts and my mind are always focused on Inter. I’m very happy there. I have a contract, and my family is very happy in Milan.”

Chelsea are thought to be interested in buying a striker in January with Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney known to be targets.

United may be preparing to back summer signing Rasmus Hojlund long-term but could look for competition for the Danish youngster, particularly if Sir Jim Ratcliffe completes his investment in the Red Devils to overhaul their footballing department.
