Reported Arsenal transfer target Lautaro Martinez is reportedly only interested in a move to Spain amid interest from the Gunners.
It was reported that the north London outfit were eyeing the Inter Milan hitman ahead of a summer move, with The Telegraph suggesting that an enquiry had been submitted to his current employers regarding his availability.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal’s interest will progress any further than that with it being reported that Inter Milan are not keen on selling the Argentine with two years remaining on his contract.
Either way, Martinez reportedly does not see his future in north London. As, per Sportmediaset journalist Marco Barzaghi, the striker would only be interested in a move to Spain should he decide to leave Inter Milan.
He would therefore consider signing for the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, in what would be a big blow to Arsenal’s hopes of bringing him to the Emirates Stadium.
However, considering the financial difficulties of the former two, a move right now seems highly unlikely which could therefore give the Gunners some encouragement as Mikel Arteta aims to bolster his forward line.
Both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have been linked with moves away this summer, whilst youngster Eddie Nketiah seems unlikely to be a long-term option.
Martinez would certainly bring some considerable pedigree should he become an Arsenal player. He has scored 49 goals in 132 appearances for Inter Milan since arriving from Argentine outfit Racing Club in 2018.
He netted 19 goals and notched 11 assists in all competitions last season as Inter Milan lifted the Serie A crown for the first time since 2010.
The 23-year-old then added to his trophy haul this summer by lifting the Copa America with Argentina.
