SAN ANTONIO _ Move over, Thunder loss. The Bulls have a new season low.
Despite playing without six players, the Spurs throttled the Bulls, 133-94, Saturday night at AT&T Center, at one point leading by 41 points. It's the largest margin of victory in the series history.
The Bulls, who lost to the Thunder by 32 points, have dropped a season-high four straight.
Making matters worse, Lauri Markkanen sprained his left ankle in the waning seconds of the first half and didn't return for the second half. Bobby Portis, who tied Robin Lopez for team-high honors with 17 points, started the second half.
So did Kris Dunn, replacing a slumping Paul Zipser to play alongside Jerian Grant.
Zipser and Grant got benched for the final 20 minutes, 29 seconds of Friday's loss to the Pacers. But coach Fred Hoiberg stuck with both to start Saturday.
"I had a really good conversation with Paul this afternoon about going out and taking what the defense gives him," Hoiberg said. "I feel like he's really trying to press right now, which is human nature when you're having struggles.
"I'm a guy who had struggles in this league. And it's hard to get through it. It really is when you're a low-confidence player. He just needs to have a game where he sees the ball go in the basket."
Zipser was a non-factor with early foul trouble and two points.
As for Grant, Hoiberg admitted that the third-year guard's ball security is a big reason why he has kept his job over Dunn. Grant entered Friday's action ranked second in the NBA in assists-to-turnover ratio.
The Spurs, who already were without Kawhi Leonard, Tony Parker and Joffrey Lauvergne, announced Danny Green would sit with a sore hamstring and 40-year-old Manu Ginobili would rest after playing Friday.
Rudy Gay, with a sore back, played after being termed a gametime decision. Pau Gasol's 21 points and 10 rebounds came in just 27 minutes.
