Laurent Koscielny 'considering his future' as Arsenal stall on contract offer

Laurent Koscielny is reportedly considering his future at Arsenal as the club stall on the offer of a new contract.

The Frenchman has 12 months to run on his current deal at the Emirates but is seemingly pondering a fresh challenge ahead of the Europa League final.

L'Equipe say the 33-year-old is becoming 'more and more' tempted by the idea of trying something new as he prepares for his 405th, and potentially final, game in Arsenal colours.

Koscielny has apparently had talks with Arsenal over extending his stay but nothing has yet come to fruition.

Rennes and AC Milan are interested and have reportedly made contact, but it is Bayer Leverkusen who are making the biggest play after they secured their place in next season's Champions League.

The German side are said to be keen on landing Koscielny for his experience.

Arsenal will not be at Europe's top table next term unless they beat Chelsea in Baku on Wednesday night having failed to finish in the top four.

If Koscielny does leave, it could hasten Arsenal's pursuit of Barcelona centre-half Samuel Umtiti.

The 25-year-old has lost his place in Ernesto Valverde's starting XI to Clement Lenglet and has struggled to force his way back into the side.

Barca are favourite to land Ajax defender Matthijs De Ligt which would drop Umtiti further down the pecking order.

The Catalan giants are willing to negotiate at around £50million, but Umtiti only signed a fresh five-year deal last summer.
