Lauren Harries in 'induced coma' as Celebrity Big Brother star's family give concerning update

Lauren Harries' family have asked fans to pray for the Celebrity Big Brother star, after she suffered a seizure and was placed in a medically induced coma.

Lauren, a huge fan favourite when she entered the Big Brother house in 2013, the year the show was won by Charlotte Crosby; underwent brain surgery in April, after being struck down by a mystery illness.

She has been recovering ever since, speaking to fans on Instagram when well enough and giving updates on how she's been doing. Just a few days ago, former This Morning regular Lauren aired her thoughts on the Phillip Schofield scandal, saying that she hoped he and Holly Willoughby would be able to rebuild their friendship amid all the controversy.

On Monday afternoon, the 45-year-old's family revealed the sad news that Lauren's condition had taken a turn for the worse. Sharing an update with fans, they wrote: "Last night Lauren had a seizure and doctors have had to put her into an induced coma to get it under control.

Over the weekend, Lauren posted a series of candid pictures from her hospital bed on Instagram, one of which showed her with her nearly shaved head. Next to it she wrote: "It takes guts to show this picture after my hair was so lovely but it was either that or not be hear anymore ego aside they had to save my life although staying in hospital has been hard sticking up for myself being strong thank god for extensions at least it grows a inch a month."

"Lauren needs all your support and wishes, she loves you all."
