Forget outsourcing the Christmas tree to a fancy florist or decorating firm - Lauren Goodger decided to do things the old fashioned way.
Shunning the celeb trend to hire professionals to bring the festive cheer, the The Only Way Is Essex alum and builder boyfriend Charles Drury instead spent a romantic evening decorating their own tree.
But the two found their efforts under attack as they were trolled on social media for their "s***" tree, trimmed with silver crackers, twinkling lights and glass baubles.
"Why are people saying are tree is s***?" asked 23-year-old Charles, posting a picture of himself fake crying in front of the festive backdrop at the Essex home the pair share.
"It's not even finished!' he added, explaining on his Instagram Story: "The star didn't fit on top."
He then told fans: "This was just a practise go."
While her fans might not be impressed, it seems that Lauren, 34, is happy with her tree.
"We're a bit late to the party," the excited star captioned a video showing off their work, adding: "Christmas tree time."
The two listened to Bing Crosby classic It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas as they hung their baubles.
