Lauren Goodger says she's lost three stone from grief over baby daughter's tragic death

Reality star Lauren Goodger has revealed she lost three stone last year after her newborn daughter tragically died.

The former TOWIE star, 36, confessed the stress of baby Lorena's death left her not able to eat. However, she said she has since put a stone back on after sorting out her diet, while also admitting she is in a much better place regarding her mental health.

She announced baby Lorena's death in July, saying she was "broken". The baby died shortly after being born and in a heartbreaking Instagram post at the time, Lauren described her as "the most beautiful baby I've ever seen".

Lauren told her followers there had been no pregnancy or labour complications. It was later confirmed she was born with the umbilical cord knotted and around her neck.

Lorena was Lauren's second daughter with her ex, Charles Drury.

Now, speaking to OK magazine!, she has opened up on the period of time since. She said: "I lost nearly three stone after I lost Lorena because of the stress. I didn’t eat. I’m now eating again and I’ve put a stone back on because I’m being more healthy.

"I stayed indoors and I didn’t go out, and now I feel I’m in a better place mentally. This year is about focusing on me and getting back on track."

The death of Lorena came just days after Lauren’s former partner Jake McLean was killed in a car crash in Turkey.

Lauren then ended her relationship with Charles a few weeks later. The pair, who began dating in October 2020, split following Charles' arrest after an alleged assault at her Essex home on the night of their daughter’s funeral.

Lauren went on to say that Larose, her one-year-old daughter with Charles, is her "rock" and "inspiration" and makes her feel a proud mum.

She continued: "She’s the best. She’s the cheekiest little girl you will come across. She’s already an intelligent and independent woman. She makes me so proud every single day. She’s unbelievable. She’s my rock."

To mark the six-month anniversary of Lorena's death earlier in the month, Lauren took to Instagram to post an emotional tribute.

She shared a blank screen on her Instagram Story and wrote in all caps: "My [angel emoji] is 6 months tomorrow... Pray for you tonight... #Lorena [love heart emoji]"
