Mum-to-be Lauren Goodger has updated fans about the “painful” mystery rash which has plagued her during the later phases of her pregnancy.
The former The Only Way Is Essex star, who suffers from anxiety, has been desperately worried about the itchy red rash which covers her pregnant tum.
But thankfully having sought expert advice from doctors, the 34-year-old TOWIE alumni was relieved to discover she wasn’t suffering from the condition Pre-eclampsia.
Pre-eclampsia is a condition that affects some pregnant women in the second half of pregnancy (around 20 weeks) or soon after their baby arrives.
Reality TV star Lauren is due to welcome her first child with partner Charles Drury in a matter of weeks.
And in a post to her 783,000 Instagram fans, she shared a snap of her bulging tummy to reassure fellow mums that what she was experiencing was perfectly healthy.
“Update on my rash!” penned Lauren.
“So I had my bloods done (and what I thought anyway).
“No issues come back my bloods are all normal. No liver probs. No infection. Nothing serious to me or baby.
“Some people said preclamsia [sic] and all sorts which is why I wanted [sic] get medically checked also. But it’s ‘just’ hives/pregnancy rash!
“I say ‘just’ but it’s literally the worst thing I’ve ever had! I’ve never had a rash before.”
But the shattered TV personality admitted: “I am awake until sunrise. I am exhausted. It’s sore. Raw. Bumpy and my skin feels like leather and it’s hot like prickly heat!
“And it’s sooo painful like shooting electric shock pains! I’ve tried everything I can and nothing works.
“I’m at the end of my pregnancy nearly and this has made it mentally so much harder and unbearable!
“So anyone suffering we got this and it will go soon as we give birth! On a positive note it’s good strong hormones!”
She added at the bottom of her honest post: “It’s no harm to you or baby but it’s awful I no.
“I can’t sleep, or relax and it’s so painful!!
“The joys we have to go through but it’s actually made me not worry about the birth as much because this is unbearable so maybe that’s a positive!! Come on baby girl!!"
While Lauren and Charles have documented their pregnancy journey they have managed to keep the name of their baby girl secret until now.
But at some stage soon they will undoubtedly let their fans know the name they have chosen for their new infant.
And Lauren is just relieved that she is healthy and ready to give birth, especially after her rash worry.
“So because of my rash I had a few days breaks expressing to see if that would help stop the rash or calm the hormones,” she admitted.
“But it didn’t so I’ve expressed tonight = 21 ML for the freezer,” followed by a heart-faced emoji.
With accompanying pink heart emojis, Lauren joked: “Love thanks boobies haha
“Hurry up baby girl mummy is very ready for you.”
Lauren has had a testing pregnancy and speaking on Channel 4's Steph's Packed Lunch she revealed:" Anxiety makes me feel like something really bad is going to happen to you, like you’re going to die.
“Whatever you do you can’t get away from it, I’ve tried everything.”
“It’s a lot harder when you’re pregnant, you don’t have the energy or the strength, you just want to relax and sleep and anxiety doesn’t let you sleep.”
In a heartfelt admission she told psychotherapist Diane Youdale about a terrifying experience she had recently, revealing: “I remember being at home one day, absolutely fine and all of a sudden my heart was racing and I was acting really strange, I kept dropping things.”
