Lauren Goodger feared 'miscarrying her baby' after suffering Covid-19 symptoms

Lauren Goodger has spoken about the "terrifying" moment she feared that she might miscarry just weeks into her pregnancy.

The 34-year-old star of The Only Way Is Essex said that she was worried what would happen after she started suffering symptoms of Covid-19.

The reality star is expecting her first child with Charles Drury, 23, and has said that she feared the worst when she couldn't smell her McDonald's meal.

Fearing that she had the deadly virus, Lauren said: "I thought, 'Oh no, I’ve got Covid, what if I lose the baby?'"

Lauren was worried that unfortunate events were repeating, as she had suffered miscarriages before, and when she couldn't "taste a thing" while eating her fast food in October.

When Lauren learned that she was pregnant, just weeks after starting a relationship with Charles, she said that she had already been suffering flu-like symptoms for two weeks and had spent a majority of that time in bed.

Speaking to The Sun, Lauren said: "It was terrifying. I was worried about my baby, I was worried I was going to get worse again and die."

Worrying that she had coronavirus, Lauren said that she bit into a lemon and gurgled mouthwash. When she was unable to taste any of it, she feared the worst.

Lauren said that she began to panic: "It was such a worry. Even though I’d recovered from the worst of it, when my sense of smell went.

"You see all this terrifying coverage of Covid in the news and I was panicking."

The TOWIE star said that she applied online for a coronavirus test but was turned down because she didn't have a high temperature.

While she hasn't been tested, Lauren is convinced that she had Covid-19 as she had been in contact with others that had since tested positive.

She continued to say that it would be "strange" if her illness had been anything else, but wasn't "100% sure" that it was coronavirus.

Lauren announced her happy baby news earlier this month, just three months after revealing her relationship with Charles.
