Laura Whitmore 'to narrate new dating show' just weeks after Love Island exit

Laura Whitmore has wasted no time moving on from Love Island after she agreed to front a new dating show on Amazon Prime.

Date Night will see contestants using a dating app similar to those such as Tinder while at home, whilst also receiving advice from friends and family.

Laura has agreed to return to fronting a show where guests look for love despite admitting finding hosting three seasons of Love Island very difficult.

After quitting the ITV2 series, she said: “I had to think about it for my own mental-health side, because I love the show, but it comes with a lot of s**t. It’s a bit exhausting and it’s tough.”

The mum-of-one also said: "There are certain elements of the show I've found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects."

The Daily Star reported Date Night producer Richard Bond as saying: “Date Night is an innovative new format that will resonate with the millions of people who have been swiping left and right in the hope of finding love over the past decade.”

The next season of Love Island, the second winter version, will film in South Africa early next year to start 2023 with a bang.

With Laura out, ITV were looking for a new replacement – and they landed on their feet with Maya Jama.

Fans of the dating show had been begging for bosses to bring in Maya as the host ever since Caroline Flack's tragic death.

And it sounds like Laura is all for Maya taking the helm, as she said online: "Yes girl! So delighted for you! You're gonna be fab."

It was also reported that the 2022 winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu had been approached for the hosting job, but she claimed she turned it down as she didn't feel ready.
