Laura Whitmore takes up new dating show gig months after Love Island departure

Laura Whitmore is set to host another dating show following her shock resignation as Love Island presenter.

Laura has now been confirmed as the narrator of new series Date Night, which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. The show will mirror reality as contestants swipe left and right on a specialised dating app to find love.

The Bray native announced she was leaving the ITV hit show due to “conflicting projects”. The 36-year-old also said that the travel required to host Love Island, which has previously filmed in South Africa and Mallorca, was exhausting and no longer feasible.

Laura previously said of her Love Island departure: “There are certain elements of the show I've found very difficult that cannot be changed due to the format, including flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects."

She will also host a new series “Laura Whitmore Investigates”, a three part series set to stream on ITV. The broadcaster promised to delve into “edgy, difficult words” in the programme but kept tight-lipped about the issues explored in the series.

Laura took on the role of Love Island presenter in late 2019 following the resignation of the late Caroline Flack. She has since wished her replacement Maya Jama good luck in the position.
