Laura Whitmore slams RTE's Ryan Tubridy over Late Late Show interview where he asked about her 'side boob'

Laura Whitmore has hit out at Ryan Tubridy over an interview on the Late Late Show in which he asked her about her “side boob”.

The TV presenter, who is preparing to welcome her first child with husband Iain Stirling, 33, described her first appearance on the “iconic” show as a huge let-down.

Laura, from Bray in Co Wicklow, said she was initially delighted to land a 10-minute slot on the world-famous Friday night show.

She said: “I love the Late Late, it’s iconic. They really bring the country together with things like the Toy Show.

“But when I was on it for the first time as a guest I got asked about pictures of me at the Brit Awards.

“‘Uh, apparently you were showing side-boob.’ I’ve got this really cool job, I’m working my ass off and that is the first question?

“Or the picture of Niall Horan at my house. Why is that the narrative?” The 35-year-old told of her 2013 encounter in an interview with Hot Press.

She added: “I’m very aware that at the time I just shrugged it off, but that is the type of question you get as
a female in the industry.”

The Love Island host also recalled how Irish ex pats in the music and media industry used to keep an eye out for Niall in his early One Direction days.

And she blasted the papparazzi describing how one photographer parked outside her London home and refused to leave.

She said: “If I’m at an event or working the red carpet, fine.

“But this is me going to the corner shop, putting the bins out and going for a walk while I’m pregnant during lockdown.

“It’s an invasion of privacy and the law has to be changed.”

Yesterday on Instagram, she announced her role as Primark Cares ambassador.

She posted: “I’ve been a believer that sustainable fashion shouldn’t come at a higher price.

“Spending less does not mean fast fashion, and throw away trends. It’s loving clothes and cherishing them for a long time.

“I’m delighted with what Primark are doing and can’t wait to share.”
