Laura Whitmore slams Love Island 'boozy after-party' reports and claims it only lasted 20 minutes

Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore has slammed reports that she and the finalists enjoyed a boozy after-party following Sunday's live final.

Laura was at the helm as Paige and Finn were crowned winners at the end of the live broadcast from inside the villa. The outcome sparked some controversy as some viewers, angry that bookies favourites Siannise and Luke T didn't win, claimed the result was fixed.

Unaware of any ill-feeling back at home, Paige and Finn were seen partying in the villa alongside all the other finalists, with host Laura uploading a series of snaps of her with them onto her Instagram, as well as picture of her and Love Island narrator other-half Iain Stirling clutching the show's famous 'love or money' envelopes.

A number of the pictures showed Laura and the Islanders holding what looked like cocktails in plastic cups but she has hit back at stories that suggested the party was a boozy affair.

Once again taking to her Insta story, Laura wrote: "Little note to the tabloids...the boozy after-party with the Islanders was a 20 min drink and a cuddle as they're still on lockdown and we're two hours ahead so came off air at 1.30am. Adrenaline and emotions were high. In light of everything let's try and get facts right."

During the live final, Laura's voiced cracked with emotion as she introduced a well-received video tribute to Caroline Flack, following the former host's death last weekend.

Laura also confirmed Love Island's summer series, revealing how people can apply to be on the show as it returns to Majorca.

A reunion episode of spin-off show Aftersun is set to air at the end of this week.
