Laura Whitmore pregnant with first child after secret marriage to Iain Stirling

Laura Whitmore has revealed she is pregnant after news broke of her secret marriage to Iain Strling.

The Love Island presenter announced the news on Instagram today, joking that "it's starting to look like my beer belly is out of control".

Sharing a picture of a Sweet Child Of Mine Guns 'N Roses babygro, with the words 'coming 2021', she wrote: "So I've always tried to be protective over the personal side of my life. A lot of things are just for me and my loved ones and we’ve chosen not to share publicly.

"However I want to now share good news as it’s our news to share - and I’m gonna be honest it’s starting to look like my lock down beer belly is out of control. Iain and I are expecting a baby early 2021."

Sharing that she has been craving mashed potatoes, Laura admitted she had been struggling with pregnancy symptoms.

However, the 35-year-old joked one positive side was the fact she was "completely sober" while filming this week's Celebrity Juice.

She said: "It's been hard to keep such happy news quiet. Especially the times when I’ve had to run out of live radio to get sick in a bin or my penchant for a bowl of mashed potato in the morning.

"I wasn't hungover like everyone thought. In fact I was completely sober filming the entire series of Celeb Juice, which is quite the accolade!"

Laura finished her announcement by saying she hoped her happy news "spread some love" for her fans.

She said: "We’d appreciate our privacy respected but just wanted to spread some love and a reminder of the beauty of life."

Laura and Iain, 32, managed to tie the knot in secret last month - celebrating their love with a tiny Dublin ceremony, in line with Covid rules.

According to a marriage certificate published by The Sun, Laura and Iain wed in a humanist ceremony at Dublin's City hall on November 11.

They're said to have married in front of 25 guests, the maximum allowed under Ireland's level five rules at the time.

Laura's half-brother Adam and Iain's sister Kirsten were the witnesses, the paper reported.

The couple have been together since 2017 after meeting the year before.

They have been engaged since Iain popped the question in April in South Africa, where Love Island was then filming.

Laura is the host of the show after she replaced Caroline Flack in the last series while Iain has narrated Love Island since its first season.

Laura and Iain have been together since 2017 and got engaged in South Africa earlier this year where Love Island was being filmed at the time.

The couple first met in 2016 but it took a year for them to get together.

Then in April it was reported that they had got engaged.

Iain reportedly asked for Laura's hand in marriage by presenting her with a yellow diamond ring he had designed.

A friend told The Sun at the time: "They couldn't be happier. We're thrilled for them.

"He'd obviously thought about it for a while, as he designed the ring and yellow's her favourite colour.

“Their wedding plans are on hold due to the lockdown but it's lovely to have a wedding to come."
