Laura Whitmore hits back at trolls for shaming her baby bump pictures

Laura Whitmore has hit back at trolls who left negative comments on her baby bump snaps.

The Love Island presenter wowed fans when she showed off her bump for the first time at the six month stage of her pregnancy.

She is expecting to give birth to her first child with Scots husband and co-star Iain Stirling in early 2021.

Comments left on the pictures of Laura’s baby bump have been mostly positive - but some chose to shame the presenter for showing it off in the first place.

Some described the images as ‘vulgar’ and ‘lacking in dignity’.

Laura had previously opened up on the body insecurities she had been feeling around her pregnancy.

The 35-year-old issued an Instagram response to the comments on Sunday.

She wrote: “Thanks for all the love this week.

“To the few people who are offended by a pregnant women’s body and someone taking control of their own narrative, you need to take a hard look at yourself.

“Ask yourself why you choose to put negativity out into the world. Maybe just maybe, you can change your mindset, become a better person (I do have hope) and make the world a little nicer.”

Laura announced the pregnancy to her 1.2 million followers on Instagram earlier this week.

It was also revealed that Laura and Iain, 32, married in a secret wedding ceremony held during lockdown in Dublin last month.

In a lengthy social media post, she said: “I want to now share good news as it’s our news to share - and I’m gonna be honest it’s starting to look like my lock down beer belly is out of control.

"Iain and I are expecting a baby early 2021. It’s been hard to keep such happy news quiet."

She added: "We’d appreciate our privacy respected but just wanted to spread some love and a reminder of the beauty of life."
