Laura Whitmore forced to deny 'trying to recruit people' after fans slam appearance on British Army podcast

Laura Whitmore was forced to deny “trying to recruit people” after fans slammed her appearance on a British Army podcast.

The Love Island presenter, 35, hit back after social media followers accused her of ‘promoting the British Army’.

The backlash came after the Bray born host, currently living in London, starred on an episode of The Locker where she spoke alongside a female soldier called Ella.

In a series of tweets, the BBC radio presenter denied claims she was trying to “recruit people”.

She wrote: “I was asked to be a guest on a podcast talking about body issues and being a female in a male dominated industry. As I have done a lot in the past.

“The other guest was a young female soldier. If this looked like me trying to recruit people to the army that is not the case at all.”

“I’m thankful to be Irish and living in England and feel respected, which wasn’t always the case.”
