Laura Wade's Home, I'm Darling will transfer to the West End

Laura Wade’s new play Home, I’m Darling is transferring to the West End next year.

The National Theatre and Theatr Clywd’s co-production will be opening at the Duke of York’s Theatre on February 5, following a critically acclaimed run at the National in July.

Theatr Clywd artistic director Tamara Harvey directs the show, in which Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd) reprises her role in Wade’s comedy about a woman’s quest to be the perfect fifties housewife.

This is Wade’s first new play since 2010’s Posh. The Standard’s Fiona Mountford welcomed her return, saying “the utterly compelling Parkinson shows how Judy discovers the lonely dangers of immersing oneself too completely in an illusion”.

Home, I’m Darling has been shortlisted for Best Play at the 64th Evening Standard Theatre Awards. The winner will be announced on November 18.

Tickets go on sale on Friday November 9, booking until April 13, after which the play will tour to Theatre Royal Bath and the Salford Lowry.
