The mother of a toddler who died in a hot car in 2020 has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Laura Rose Peverill, 32, appeared in the Supreme Court in Townsville today where she was arraigned.

Police say her daughter, three-year-old Rylee Rose Black, died after she was left in a locked car during the middle of the day in Townsville on November 27, 2020.

Rylee was taken to the Townsville University Hospital by Ms Peverill and her then boyfriend Aaron Hill about 3:30pm and was pronounced dead.

The car she had been left in was parked outside the Burdell home of Mr Hill.

Ms Peverill's plea today means her matter will proceed straight to sentence.

Her lawyers asked for a sentence date in September to allow time to gather psychiatric reports for the court to consider.

Justice David North set the matter down for sentence on October 6, 2023.

Her bail was enlarged.

Mr Hill is also charged with manslaughter.

He is yet to enter a plea to the charge and is due to be arraigned in July.

He remains on bail.
